Director: Lauren Stock
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time details the life of Christopher Boone, a neurodivergent boy who faces the challenges of solving the murder of a dog and reconnecting with a lost family member. Lauren Stock's production of the play for the Wesleyan Theater Department was a part of her thesis on accessibility in theater.
As the set designer for the show, I developed an array of panels that could accommodate the narrative and technical needs of the play. The four rolling panels shift through different configurations, from surrounding the characters to making the space wide open, in order to reflect Christopher's mindset, well-being, and the spaces he encounters in his adventure through London. This production offered me great experience in set design and construction, working with rear projections, and creating theater during COVID-19.
